NNSGC
Open to Male Golfers 50 and above in Northern Nevada
The Northern Nevada Senior Golf Club (NNSGC) was established in 1976 with a goal of promoting golf, sportsmanship, organizations like "The First Tee" and local charities in Northern Nevada. We have approximately 240+ members in ages from 50 to over 90 years old and have from 80 to more than 120 golfers at each tournament. The club now sponsors 17 to 18 tournaments a year and one annual awards banquet at the end of the season.
Members compete in one of four flights based on handicap and/or age. The flight ranges vary with the number of golfers playing in the tournament. Usually Flight A (0-14), Flight B (15-19), Flight C (20-25), Flight D (26 and above), but if there are too many golfers in one flight the ranges will be increased up or down by 1 or 2 strokes to make the flights somewhat equal in the number of golfers in each flight. Golfers are paid in NNSGC credits which can be exchanged for Gift Certificates or can be used at a future tournament. On average first place gets $30, second $25, and third $20 in credits. Closest to the Pin (CTP) and Longest Putt (which can be off the green - putter must be used) First - Third places are paid - $20, $15 and $10. Members over 80 may play from the forward tees but will compete in their respective handicap flight. Players are eligible to win only one scoring prize. If you qualify for both gross & net, the score giving the player the most money will prevail. If both the same, gross will prevail over net. You may also win CTP and longest putt awards.
The annual membership fee of $55 includes a name tag and golf hat or hat band for new members. Members must wear hat and name tag when checking in for each tournament. Members also receive a free year-end awards banquet. Guest can attend the banquet for a fee. Guests are invited to play golf when space is available. Log on to our webpage www.NNSGC.com to see more information and application. Check out Rules page on this website for more complete details.
