The Northern Nevada Senior Golf Club (NNSGC) was established in 1976 with a goal of promoting golf, sportsmanship, organizations like "The First Tee" and local charities in Northern Nevada. We have approximately 165 members in ages from 55 to over 90 years old and have from 80 to more than 100 golfers at each tournament. The club now sponsors 17 tournaments a year and one annual awards banquet at the end of the season.
Members compete in one of four flights based on handicap and/or age. The flight ranges vary with the number of golfers playing in the tournament. Usually Flight A (0-14), Flight B (15-19), Flight C (20-25), Flight D (26 and above), but if there are too many golfers in one flight the ranges will be increased up or down by 1 stroke to make the flights somewhat equal in the number of golfers in each flight. Golfers are paid in NNSGC credits which can be exchanged for Gift Certificates or can be used at a future tournament. On average first place gets $30, second $25, and third $20 in credits. Closest to the Pin (CTP) and Longest Putt (which can be off the green - putter must be used) First - Third places are paid - $20, $15 and $10. Members over 80 may play from the forward tees but will compete in their respective handicap flight. Players are eligible to win only one scoring prize. If you qualify for both gross & net, the score giving the player the most money will prevail. If both the same, gross will prevail over net. You may also win CTP and longest putt awards.
The annual membership fee of $55 includes a name tag and golf hat or hat band for new members. Members must wear hat and name tag when checking in for each tournament. Members also receive a free year-end awards banquet. Guest can attend the banquet for a fee. Guests are invited to play golf when space is available. Rock Jarzynka (email@example.com) books the courses, negotiates prices, sends out general notices, handles disputes. His management style is a combination of “collegial” and “benevolent dictator”! When you receive an email from Rock, please do not reply to him with questions but instead please contact appropriate NNSGC officer who specializes in that area. If you have a suggestion on a change send it to Rock. Please be kind, he gets a lot of them. Actually, Kind and considerate are appropriate in emails to any NNSGC director!
Tom Brucklacher (firstname.lastname@example.org) Wears many hats. Handles all cash in and out (in other words, he pays the bills), makes pairings and posts the pairings on the web page 3-5 days before tournaments. Manages computer program entries and maintains our Web page with GoDaddy. Your group pairing number will not be your hole assignment. The course assigns the hole assignments. Phone (775)-342-3567 cell
Tom is also Credit Chairman and awards credits and posts credits and tournament winnings on NNSGC website. Tom asks that when you use credits to play you make sure you indicate this on your entry form. If you can't make a tournament and have paid Tom will issue you credits to your account.
Rick Arteaga (email@example.com) Enters tournament scores on interim sheet. Tom transfers to computer program which calculates handicaps and winners. Allow 3-5 days after tournaments to see them on the web. If you have a question send Tom an email and he will show you how it was calculated.
Tom Brucklacher (firstname.lastname@example.org) operates an optional $10 skin games, not part of the NNSGC. Skins results will be posted on NNSGC site and winners will be paid cash at the awards banquet at end of year.
If you have any questions about NNSGC please email the appropriate director listed above.
